What are composite fillings made from ?

Composite (white) fillings are typically made from powdered glass and acrylic resin.

These are favoured within modern dentistry as they can firstly be shaded to match the color of a person’s existing teeth making them virtually invisible.

How long do they take to fit ?

Among many factors, it depends on the amount of decay, the difficulty of access (second and third molars are harder to fill than premolars), number of surfaces involved (a simple 1 surface filling will take less time than a 3 surface where you have to rebuild contact with adjacent teeth).
