Show your mouth some love

couple happy and kissing

We all want a kiss-worthy smile! Here are our top tips to ensure excellent dental health:

Keep your toothbrush to yourself

Coughs, colds and viruses (including Covid-19) can all be spread through the bacteria in our saliva. This bacteria can live on our toothbrush for anywhere between a few hours and a few days, so keeping your own toothbrush is vital to making sure there is no spread of such illnesses. This includes no sharing with loved ones!

Avoid bad breath

Bad breath is caused by bacteria building up in your mouth. Therefore to avoid it, we need to make sure we adhere to regular brushing in order to fight it. Twice daily brushing, including your tongue, can help to eradicate the bacteria build up. We would also recommend using a fluoride mouthwash as another way of keeping bad breath at bay.

If your bad breath continues, yet you adopt a good regular brushing routine, this could be a sign of a more serious condition. If this is the case, get in touch with your dentist and organise a check up.

Show your teeth some love

A beautiful and bright smile can do wonders for our confidence, and with shiny, white teeth being the ultimate dream, you might have considered tooth whitening.

Nowadays, it is extremely easy to get a hold of at-home teeth whitening kits. However these are not anywhere near as safe or effective as whitening carried out by your dentist. Using these at-home kits could lead to permanent damage to your teeth and gums, so show your teeth some love and speak to your dentist!

They will provide you with information about their teeth whitening options, to find out what would be best for you. It is considered a dental procedure and therefore should only be carried out by a qualified dentist.

Love your dentist, like you love your partner

Ok, maybe not QUITE like your partner. But do make sure to visit your dentist regularly for a check-up. This will help to ensure your oral health is great all year round.
